Listening - December 22nd

As Victoria’s newest Councillor, tell me your priorities, what do you want me to raise at the council table?  The City Clerk swears me in on the morning of Tuesday December 22nd.

I want to stay true to the promise I made on election night, to lead with an open door, an open mind and an open heart.

It may be symbolic, but it is how I plan to lead - to listen.  It's important.  You told me you felt your voice was missing or not heard and I want to change that.

On this evening, I will listen.  I will ask questions and I will use this information to guide my agenda.

Thank you so much for this awesome responsibility.

Please complete the registration and we will send out the link for the meeting on the afternoon of December 22.

Looking forward to seeing you.

I know that council has been working hard at adding density to the downtown core. The building down by Capital Iron seems to fit in better than a lot of the high rises.
I hope that the feeling of Old Town can be preserved in the LoJo area and along Government near Yates and Pandora. It will be too bad if everything is wiped out in the name of development.
Also of course we need a firm No when it comes to adding more shelters/halfway houses in the Burnside Gorge area Why not use this area for group homes for disabled/mentally challenged folks if they still own the hotels when this gets resolved?
By the way….where do we drop off campaign signs?
    Cheers. Betty
