The Stephen Andrew for Mayor of Victoria Campaign seeks help to identify a suspect of election sign damage.

On Saturday, September 3, 2022, on Esquimalt Road, just north of the Johnson Street Bridge, witnesses observed a man in a yellow sweatshirt at 6:45 p.m. kicking and uprooting Stephen Andrew for Mayor election signs as another man watches.

“This is not an isolated incident,” says Stephen Andrew. “Vandalism and removal of our signs not only cost our campaign several thousand dollars, but also subverts democracy, intimidates voters, and attempts to silence our right to free speech.”

The Campaign seeks to identify the suspect in the yellow sweatshirt and the man who watched the mischief (a photo is enclosed).

Anyone with information is asked to contact Victoria Police on the non-emergency number, 250-995-7654 Extension 1 and quote file: 22-35274.
